• He Declares his intention to become a citizen of the United States on September 27, 1877 at the court in Beaver, Utah.(He must be a citizen to obtain the homestead land)
• He settles and applies for homestead land described as follows: E 1/2 SE 1/4, section 29; W 1/2 SW 1/4, section 28; township 27 South, range 3 West; 160 acres
• The land is about 1 1/2 miles south of Marysvale in a farming community described as Thompsonville.
• He makes the necessary improvements to the land and files homestead proof. in August 1884. (homestead proof is a preprinted form which the claimant and witnesses complete that details the homestead)
• The final patent is issued in October 1886 sometime after he had died.
