Frank P. Hill moved with his parents to Alabama about 1850. He served in
the civil war under Gen. Forrest and was at the battle of Chickamanga.
He came from Randolph County, Alabama in a caravan of Hill families to
Cass County, Texas, 1870, moving his family in a covered wagon. The
family consisted of his wife, Rachel and three children, the youngest
being a three week old son, William. During the winter of 1873-4, this
Hill family moved to Bell County, Texas and located near Cedar Creek,
Northeast of Belton. The Witt families had preceeded them to Bell
County, coming also from Alabama. By early 1875, the family had moved
nearer the northern edge of the county and settled on the Vanderpool
farm. Here, they lived until about 1884, four children having been born
there. In 1883-84, F. P. Hill bought 200 acre black land cotton farm 3
1/2 miles southwest of the town of Moody, on the edge of Bell County.
Three children were born on this farm. Here is where he lived the
remainder of his life. He was public spirited, and a leader in the
      community. He was a Baptist.
