- W.D. (BILL) Scogings, 69, passed away Friday, at 1:45 p.m. at the Bingham Memorial Hospital of a heart ailment. He had been ill for about three months. Mr. Scogings was born Aug 25, 1898 in Marysvale, Utah the son of Phillip E. and Mary E. Brown Scogings. He spent his boyhood with his family in Uintah County, Utah and the Utah Indian Reservation. He left home fairly young. He was a born mechanic and followed those lines of work. He moved to Salt Lake City, where he established his own business in 1919. Married and latter divorved, he moved to Idaho Falls in 1934 where he worked for International Harvester Co. and the Carey Implement C. In 1940 Mr. Scogings established his own garage business on West Broadway (Idaho Falls). He sold out in 1944 because of poor health. In 1945 he went into business in Pocatello. He later bought the Warm Springs Ranch in Lost River Valley. He was engaged in the garage business in Elko, Nevada from 1953 until 1957. Mr. Scogings married Laura McMillan December 23, 1958 in Las Vegas, Nev. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church and a life member of the B.P.O.E. No. 1087 in Idaho Falls. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Scogings is survived by his wife of Blackfoot, four daughters, one step son and one step daughter: ........................ Twenty five grandchildren, one brother and three sisters: Russell Scogings, Vancouver, Wash; Mrs. Nettie Farey, San Mateo, Calif; Mrs. Ella Reboch, San Carlos, Calif; and Mrs. Oral Evans, Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 1967 from the Fifth Ward L.D.S. Church by Bishop Ellis Oram. Interment will be in the Grove City Cemetery, Blackfoot. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sandberg - Hill Funeral Home.
