- Dec 24, 1943 Mrs. Louise M. Woody Die's in Long Beach Former Salidan
Friends here received word of the death of Mrs. Louise M. Woody, a former resident of Salida. Mrs. Woody died Wednesday night at a Long Beach, Calif., hospital. She had been ill for ten days. Funeral services are being held in Long Beach this afternoon and interment will be there. Mrs. Woody was the widow of F. C. Woody, cashier for the First National Bank of Salida and secretary of the school board. Mrs. Woody had a host of friends in Salida. Mrs. Woody left Salida two years ago to make her home in California. During her residence here she was a member of the Tuesday Evening Club and the Salida Womans Club. She was also a member of 0. E. S. She retained her membership at her former home but took an active part in the Star activities in Salida. For many years she was organist of the Presbyterian church. She was an exceptional pianist. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John Contrell of Long Beach and Mrs. Luther Jones of College Station, Tex., and five grandchildren.
